American University of Sharjah Waterproofing
A New Engineering and Sciences
Building has been opened in American University of Sharjah (AUS) by His Highness Sheikh Dr.
Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab
Emirates, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS. The new four-story facility
houses two auditoriums, 35 teaching and research laboratories, and 24
classrooms (including smart classrooms). The smart classrooms are furnished
with highly mobile learning stations designed to support different learning
modes, and new laboratories significantly expand the space available for
experiments and practical applications.
In this Project we have carried out the Waterproofing of Sub
Structure, Roof & Wet Areas as per material details given below.
Sub Structure Waterproofing: For Sub
Structure Waterproofing we have used Bituminous Primer with Torch applied
waterproofing membrane, Bituminous Protection Board.
Roof Waterproofing: In Roof we have
done Light Weight Foam Concrete, Torch applied Waterproofing Membrane, 100mm
thick extruded polystyrene insulation board, geotextile, Aluminum Flashing
topped with sealant & Lose laid Precast Tiles on PVC spacers & In some
areas we have done Combo Roofing System as per the specification &
Drawings.
Wet Area Waterproofing: In Wet Areas we have used 2 layers of Polyurethane Liquid Coating.
